Love and respect for the land and the nature, the succession of seasonal rhythms that guide the processes for the preparation of the vineyard and the ripening of the grapes are the basis of our work in the vineyard and in the cellar. Total estate size – 87ha.
The Sealing Domus Vitae srl boasts a long history,was born from the passion of the owners , the family Attanasio for vineyard and especially for the land of Montalcino, that with the microclimate of Pian delle Vigne allows you to bring a maturity extraordinary grapes.
A Cassero Senese of ‘700, a time structure in the defense of the territory today hosts the cellar where lie wines ..

The estate was born in Montalcino as a project of exploitation of a still immaculate area and therefore rich of his whole history, flora and microclimate witch are particular of this south-west area.

DVmapThe owners, Attanasio Cristofolini Family are enthusiasts for the potential and for the fascination of these sites. The estate is 90 Ha wide where of actually eight fully exploited with selected clones of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet.

DV2In the old farm whose name is “Pianacci” the cellar preserve the wines from two to four years, it depends from the tipology. To search better balance and complexity during the aging stage of the wine, there are two sorts of woods: 5/6 HL tonneaux and 30/40 HL barrels.

The owners try in every way to respect the wise earth language concentrating into the wine the different flavours that the grounds, rich of stones of ferrouginos sands, can impress intoDV4 the grapes.
A human life dimension where everything is made by hand and the owners know one by one all the ranges as they were good friends keeping a sight control upon everything in the production and development stages.

Our Wines

Domus-VItae-Brunello-Di-MontalcinoBRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO – DOCG – 2011 – JS 92 (2010)

Varietal: 100% Sangiovese
Altitude of Vineyard: 300m above sea level
Terroir: Eocene soil with Ferruginose, rich in skeleton
Exposure: South-Southwest, 5000 plants per Ha
Yield per Hectare:
 6 ton max per Ha
Harvest Period/Method: 1st week in October/by hand.
Alcohol Content: 14.5% Vol.
Vinification: This wine originates from the best Sangiovese grapes produced on 2.5 Ha on the estate. After the harvest the grapes go through fermentation in temperature-controlled (28°C) steel vats for 20-28 days and undergo pumping over and délestage to maximize the extraction of all the structural components of the wine from the skins giving it longevity and structure.
Aging: Aged for 36 months minimum in oak barrels 30-40 hl and 6hl tonneaux oak barrels from which the wine acquires its fragrances and that elegance which is expressed in the glass.
Bottle Aging: After aging in wood, the wine is bottled and refined for a minimum six months then released on the market not earlier than five years after the harvest.
Bottling Date: October 2015
Tasting Notes: Intense ruby red in color. Big fruit-driven wine typical of Pian delle Vigne zone. Sweet pliant and generous. On the palate, juicy dark cherry, licorice, tobacco sage and menthol all burst from the glass. The 2011 is clearly built for drinking over the near term. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2021.

Varietal: 100% Sangiovese

Alcohol Content: 14.0% Vol.
Vinification: This wine originates from the best Sangiovese grapes produced on 5 Ha on the estate. After the harvest the grapes go through fermentation in temperature-controlled (28° C) steel vats for 18 days and undergo pumping over and délestage to maximize the extraction of all the structural components of the wine from the skins giving it longevity and structure.
Aging: Aged for 24 months minimum in oak barrels 30-40 hl and 6hl tonneaux oak barrels from which the wine acquires its fragrances and that elegance which is expressed in the glass.
Bottle Aging: After aging in wood, the wine is bottled and refined for a minimum six months then released on the market not earlier than 3 years after the harvest.
Bottling Date: September 2013
Tasting Notes: Deep ruby red in color. Intense note of cherry, violet and plum, silkened by the noble spices of wood. On the palate, layers of fruit lingers. The wine shows elegance and complexity surprising with a long aftertaste. Can be defined as a true expression of the Montalcino terroir. Drink now.

DRAGONE TOSCANA – IGT – 2010

Varietal: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Altitude of Vineyard: 300m above sea level
Terroir: Eocene soil with Ferruginose, rich in skeleton
Exposure: South-Southwest, 5000 plants per Ha
Yield per Hectare:
 4 ton max per Ha
Harvest Period/Method: 2nd week of October/by hand.
Alcohol Content: 14.0% Vol.
Vinification: This wine originates from the best Cabernet Sauvignon grapes produced on the estate. After the harvest the grapes go through fermentation in temperature-controlled (28°-30°C) steel vats for 12 days and undergo pumping over and délestage to maximize the extraction of all the structural components of the wine from the skins giving it longevity and structure.
Aging: Aged for 24 months minimum in 6hl tonneaux oak barrels and barriques from which the wine acquires its fragrances and that elegance which is expressed in the glass.
Bottle Aging: After aging in wood, the wine is bottled and refined for a minimum 3 months then released on the market not earlier than 3 years after the harvest.
Bottling Date: February 2013
Tasting Notes: Dark purple with purple reflections. Powerful nose of plum, black current and black cherry, supported by a powerful alcoholic fruit of the terroir of Montalcino. On the palate, the wine is enveloping, full, supported by acidity due to it’s youth. Pulpous and enveloping with a long lasting sweet finish. Drink now.

Varietal: 50% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon,  25% Merlot

Terroir: Eocene soil with Ferruginose, rich in skeleton
Exposure: South-Southwest, 5000 plants per Ha
Yield per Hectare:
 8 ton max per Ha
Harvest Period/Method: End of September/by hand.
Alcohol Content: 13.0% Vol.
Vinification: This wine originates from the grapes produced on the estate. After the harvest the grapes go through fermentation in temperature-controlled (31°C) steel vats for 8-10 days and undergo pumping over and délestage to maximize the extraction of all the structural components of the wine from the skins giving it longevity and structure.
Aging: Aged for 24 months minimum in 6hl tonneaux oak barrels from which the wine acquires its fragrances and that elegance which is expressed in the glass.
Bottle Aging: After aging in wood, the wine is bottled and refined for a minimum 6 months then released on the market not earlier than 3 years after the harvest.
Bottling Date: September 2013
Tasting Notes: Deep rubine red in color. Complex on the nose, with intense notes of cherry, violet and plum, silkened by the noble spices of wood. Well balanced on the palate. The wine is solid and shows elegant and silky tannins with a long finish. Can be defined as an expression of the Montalcino terroir. Drink now.
